Utilities - Certificate of Occupancy Hold for Water (backflow)
11. Backflow Prevention – As provided on the application as a notice, in accordance with the Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.) Chapter 62-555.360, you are required to install a backflow prevention assembly on all potable, irrigation, and fire lines as required by the City’s Cross Connection Control and Prevention Manual prior to activation of your water services. If your parcel shall be connecting to the City’s reclaimed distribution system, the City will own and maintain the backflow device on the domestic water line while all other backflow prevention devices will be the responsibility of the property owner. You will be required to have all private assembly(ies) tested every year. You must provide the test results to the Water Department within seven (7) calendar days of test completion. You must install any private backflow prevention assemblies prior to the inspection to be conducted by the Field Quality Section. Neglecting to install required assemblies is a violation of the Florida Administrative Code and enforcement action will occur per F.A.C. 62-550, and your water service will be disconnected when this requirement is not met. If fire service is requested, you agree to pay for and install an approved detector meter on the fire service backflow prevention device and provide detector meter readings to the City at a frequency determined by the City and when requested. A hold has been placed on the Certificate of Occupancy / Certificate of Completion for the final inspection of the installed back flow prevention device(s). To schedule an inspection of the backflow prevention devices, please contact Field Quality at (813) 231-5265 or FieldQuality@TampaGov.Net
