As part of this project, the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (Authority) intends to replace the main electrical service to the cooling tower for Airside A at Tampa International Airport (TPA). This project involves the design and construction work required to remove and replace corroded conduits. New polyvinyl chloride (PVC) conduit will be installed at the cooling tower, and electric metallic tube (EMT) conduit will be used in all interior spaces. As illustrated in Figure 1 below, the conduit will be routed overhead from the top of the motor control center (MCC-E) in Airside A’s electrical room, passing through the adjacent corridor and back-of-house areas, and extending to the cooling tower yard. The existing structural support system for the cooling tower water pipes will be utilized for this installation.
