Utilities - Certificate of Occupancy Hold for Water - Affordable Housing
The City of Tampa Water Department has invested in the treatment and transmission infrastructure to provide the capacity to serve growth. Pursuant to Section 26-37, City of Tampa Code, an additional fee to account for the investment of the treatment and transmission infrastructure, which is calculated by multiplying $1,713 by the number of Equivalent Residential Units (ERUs) associated with the project. Per Florida Statute 163.31801, the City may provide an exception or waiver for the Water Capacity Fee for a development or construction that is affordable, as defined in Florida Statute 420.9071. Per Section 26-37, City of Tampa Code, it shall be the applicant's responsibility to provide official documents sufficient to demonstrate that a proposed development qualifies under the Florida Statute's definition. This project is currently under review by the City of Tampa for a final designation as "affordable". The water capacity fees will be waived once the required documentation is provided to the Water Department
